I got the chance to wear two beautiful wedding dresses. Lehenga Shopping is Over

Finally I have shopped for Lehenga (Wedding dress). We went shopping in Chandani Chawk market, on Sunday, when the market was closed. But, still we managed to get a very pretty (that’s how I find it) Lehanga. :) It is in maroon color with green boarded and golden embroideries.

I even posed in all other Lehanga’s I tired on. :)

I

Ohh, forgot to mention; the groom has also bought Sherwani :)

Nothing can kill a girl's love for shopping :)

The whole weekend I was down with fever. But it failed to stop me from going out shopping. My husband gifted me a very pretty Mangalsutra, which I will start wearing after our marriage in Himachal, according to Himachali rituals. Hey don’t get confused we are already married, we had our court marriage in April this year. But you know parents!

I even had to pop some medicine on our way home, which we took from the nearest chemist, and it almost knocked me off for the whole night. When I woke up in the morning I was hysterical. It was 10:30 am and I though its Monday. But then my husband calmed me down and reminded me that it is only Sunday. It took me 5 minutes to believe him.
Anyway, nothing can kill a girl’s love for shopping. On Sunday, too I went out shopping with mom. Though, I did not get a thing for my self and as Saturday i had to take medicine.( this time i took paracetamol)
Oh yeah, we even celebrated dad’s birthday at 12 midnight.:) A day in advance! We all were thinking it is Oct. 7. :D, we made him cut the cake on 6th and even made him believe that his birthday is on 6th. :)

All in all my weekend was wonderful.
:)

And the Award Goes to :)

Of course not me!
Me and Kartik, my dance partner, were the only couple who messed up all the steps. We could not get a single one right. But still see how proudly my husband is making the video.

BTW, after watching my performance I decided to quit, for good. cant dare to kill someone out of sheer irritation on watching me, pretty decent soul i'm. :)

LinkedIn Doesn’t Allow me to Accept Invitation: How Frustrating

I can’t accept invitation on LinkedIn. It asks me for my password and when I provide the detail and hit enter, I am back on the same page! It just keeps asking me for password and don’t allow me to accept the invitation.
Well, I can understand if I am not allowed to send invitation, but why on earth I can’t even accept one.

Back from the Press Conference- Yawnnnn

I have just come back from a press conference(was playing good Samaritan- colleague’s client) and now I am dead tired. Well, media turned up, as expected finally, infact more than 50  people came.

I am happy that I went to this press con, even though I am like a dead chicken now, because I have pitched my clients to a couple of the financial newspapers.

The Economic Times, biggest financial paper here in India, has agreed to have a telephonic interview with my client tomorrow and the business Standard has asked for more details.I have also met many new journalists.

Attending this conference and giving a helping hand to Shweta, my colleague, was successful for me too- kind of killed two birds with a stone( well, i will really hate to kill a bird) :-D

I am looking forward to many more such press conferences. :)

Wohhoo Got a Dragon Tattoo

I have got one more tattoo done over the weekend. I am not very happy with my first tattoo, and ever since I have got that, I wanted to get one more and, most probably, my last tattoo.
Well, it didn't take  much of an effort to persuade my husband (Gawd! I love him). On Saturday we both went to Mike studio at CR Park.BTW, he has got a cool and hip studio( he isn't paying me for this). I like the way they have done their tattoo shop. They even have a big aquarium. Anyway, we were directed to these two guys, who looked as if they are on drugs and have not taken bath for ages (but may be that is their idea of being COOL).
Hmmm, I did not have anything in mind but I was certain that I wanted to get it on my lower back and it should have my husband’s name. So, this guy showed us atleast a hundred pictures and after one hour of scrutinizing and discussion, I decided, I want a dragon, but, I did not like any of the pictures they had. Though, I did like one of the picture, but only its body, not the face. So finally this guy, who trued out to be a graduate in fine arts, sketched the face and name which looks like as if flames are coming out of the dragon’s mouth.

They also put some cream to numb the area so that it didn't pain,  however, he had to apply something else too to numb it during the process- when i started flinching. I was really very pleased with the professional attitude of this guy (read Ramesh)

It took him two and a half hour to do this job. But i dont mind, I really like my tattoo.

PS.- I don’t like the tattoo I have got from Devilz tattoo’s. That guy also lacks a professional attitude. Infact I had given him a call on Friday, as he was the only artist I knew till Friday, and know what, that jerk put me on the hold while has was chatting and laughing. Therefore, I cut the line, and thought, Dude you just lost a business of INR 15000. Duhhh.

My Day

I made a record today! Today, first time in my life, I woke up at 4am (had to go to airport). Never ever before, even during final exams, I made such an effort. Yet, I went back to sleep at 5am, over slept, and reached office at 11am.
Day at office had been good so far until this thing happened.

There is a disagreement on an annul plan between my boss and the corporate communications lady and what is worst they both are talking to me instead of talking to each other. While my boss wants me put something in the plan the lady is asking to remove that thing entirely and put something else. My boss is bit flexible here and is okay if I incorporate the suggestion this lady is making.
Now I don’t know who to please the corp. comm. or the boss, or shall I instead make two different plans and send each what they want. Actually it seems to be a nice idea! :)
Let’s see what I do finally.
Ohh yeah one more of my fish has died today! :(

Peeing Behavior of Some PR Agencies in India

I received this funny email from Sporshi. i liked it so much that i thought of putting it on my blog.

Peeing Behavior of top PR agencies in India as observed by an unknown person in the loo during a PRCAI Summit:

1. Person walks into the loo...looking very uncomfortable..looks around and then runs out..he was spotted doing the same thing over and over again..till finally he ended up peeing in his pants...(employee of Vaishnavi - they are taught to hold on to their Pee as they can be needed anytime by the TATAs)

2. A smartly dressed person walks in enquires if there is a special loo for IT consultants..getting no answer he looks around and then walks out looking disgusted and frowning on others who were using the loo...(employee of Text100 - they expect special treatment everywhere they go...he was later seen sleeping next to the commode..they usually get drunk and behave like this)

3. A person very casually walks in sees that all the urinals are taken..he walks to the basin and pees in that..(employee of the Hanmer & Partners)..they don't really care about how and where they do it..they take the brief and then somehow they do what they have been asked to do...

4. Two buddies walk in together joking and laughing about some new client they have conned..seeing that there is only one urinal available...they both decide to use the same urinal and pee together...(employees of Perfect Relations..they truly stand for team work and take pride in conning people)..

5. A very formally dressed person walks into the loo..he opens his bag..takes out his measurement flask..walks to the urinal and then pees in the flask..measures the pee in the flask and then throws it...(employee of Genesis..very professional and process oriented..they are taught to measure everything they do...infact these guys don't get paid if they don't measure their pee and report it online..they are also forced to buy their own measurement flask and sometimes they have to measures their bosses flasks as well.....

Three of My Fish Died

I have got an aquarium last Sunday, and with in 5 days three of my fish are dead. :( I even changed water and cleaned the aquarium yesterday still I found my last goldfish dead and laying in a corner. :(
I am left with only three fish now. Honestly speaking (read writing) I was sad when my first two fish died but, I think, then I become little used to it, I was not as that sad when I found this other gold fish dead today morning. :/ I simply picked it up and was about to flush when my husband asked me to put it in dustbin.

I have been talking to all my colleagues who have pets (fish) and taking lecture on how to take better care of fish. I have made some pointer and one of them is Gold Fish Are Not For Trainee Aquarium Owners.
So, now I am planning to buy some more fish one of those rough and tough ones. Let’s see how long they live to get my love. :)

What a lazy woman i am!

Yesterday while talking to Bidya, a HR Consultant, I realized how underpaid I am. I have been working like an ant all day long, servicing four technology clients for a meager salary.I sat there thinking, why on the earth am I putting up with this job? Is it because I love my job? Or is it coz I love my clients or my boss or the company? What is it actually? Then I pondered deeper as deep as I could ;-), what the hell, the reason is I am too lazy a bum to look for new job:-/. Infact to share my resume! Pathetic! People from good PR agencies been approaching me and I give silliest of the reasons for not sending my resume, as I will have to update it.
Man! I have got to do something about it! Gotta ask my husband to update it for me :P :D

Going to Himachal

I am all geared up to go to my home town tonight. To the Picturesque lush green Himachal. My husband and daddy are going to drive all night long and my sister in law and I shall be sleeping and chatting on the back seat. Well, I am planning to visit some nice places there such as Riwalsar, Nainadevi Temple, Jwalaji and let’s see what more. I will upload lot of pictures here.
And a big thanks to Rahul(my colleague) while I will be having fun out there he will be taking care of all my (four) clients. Coordinating with media and scolding me.

So Much To Do, So Little Time

Hmm, while twittering today, I realized, I have to do so many thing. I have to join back my guitar classes which I quit few months back for no apparent reason.. Second session of my salsa classes will begin from this Friday. (They have raised the fee too :( ). In addition I am not very happy with my current tattoo. It’s too small. I wonder if it looks like a butterfly or a moth. So I have decided to get one more and this time I going to get a lot bigger tattoo, on my lower back. I have decided the design too. Now, I just have to convince my husband as he thinks I will get some sort of infection or something.
I have just read some where today, I can’t recall where, it says 20 years down the line you will be unhappy for the things you did not do now than for the thing you did do.
So, my god, I have to do so many things. Just thinking where to start from?? :)

PR 2.0 or Marketing, I don't care! Let me work

Yesterday I did extensive research for how to go about doing PR 2.0 for a mobile launch. I consulted some bloggers and my twitter social media expert friends and all the possible people I could. Well, my team wanted to invite bloggers to some place for product launch. Since, most of them were not based out of this region and this phone is a not-so-well-known-brand. So we had two options:

Pay for their flight tickets and hotel bills ( but still were not sure that they will come)

OR
Engage them by some online activity
The online activity could be something like send some top bloggers a handset for review and explore an opportunity to run a contest on those respective blogs. The winner (1-2 or what ever my boss decides) will get a handset. We could run this parallel on the client’s website too.

I said, this will possibly result in to links and can get viral. We will get good online visibility.

A senior colleague of mine jumped in to a conclusion before I could finish. He said,’ oh you don’t know what is PR 2.0 what ever you are saying is marketing.’ You know I am a social media expert and I have bashed many well know bloggers but they haven’t said anything, and he jabbered name of some well know blogger.

Well I did not fight back but I was thinking yaahhh!! right they did not reply coz what ever you write on I am sure will be such a tiny thing that no one apart from you will ever come across it. And besides they know there are many dumb creatures like you and prefer to ignore negligible things like you.

Well, so much so, we are not going ahead with Social media campaign; I was so excited about.

Got a butterfly Tattoo :)

I have got a beautiful  butterfly, pink and black color, tattoo on my right ankle.

Well, it did pain a bit, it’s like, as if,  some one is cutting in to your flesh with a sharp blade. So you can imagine what do i mean by A BIT!! ;-)

ofcourse, as expected, I screamed and  hauled and did  what ever I could- possibly.

But, when I saw the result; Boy! It was worth enduring the pain.

In fact I’m planning to get one more tattoo; a bigger one this time.

Arcelor Mittal received confused response in second Life!

Just read in MINT newspaper that Arcelor Mittal had organised shareholder meeting in Second Life, the popular online virtual world. The result?? Well, the results were not even close to good, atleast that's what the newspaper reported. for this 90-minute long event around 50 avatars turened up. The event was confused and uncertain.

The residents were puzzledabout what are they suppose to do. They kept asking so, what do we do now?

As for as the company is concerted they realized that it is difficult to find investors, especially on such sites!

So, What do we do now?? :)

Great week!

This is so far been the nicest week in the last few weeks. I have received coverage for one of my clients in all across media and my other cliet has got front page coverage in one of the biggest newspaper.

I have also received appriciative email from my client :)

Next week seems good too. As i have already got some great result lined up for my client. All in a great week...and next week looks good too. :)

What to buy??

When we buy beauty products, we spend twice or even more than that of our decided budget, most of the time we get a bad deal for our money. I feel embittered when a brand talk big in advertisements and you only realize what a cheater they are only after spending good money. These big brands cajole you into buying their products and you get nothing but frustration in return.
But….. my lucky stars are shining the brightest :).

I have found a wonderful and cheap body lotion CHARMS in INA market. Earlier I had bought DOVE body lotion for INR 280, and I think it is 250 gm and this cream is nothing but waste of money. After putting the cream if you scratch your skin you will still see marks made by your nails. This means, your skin is not completely hydrated or soft.
So I decided to buy this other cream about one litter, printed price of the cream is INR 135, which I got at a discounted price for INR 70. I was little hesitant about using this cream, as it was so cheap, so I applied it on my feet only. The other day I gained bit more courage and used it on my legs, and this lotion is just fantastic. My skins become so soft. Now, I am using it everyday. Infact, my sister has also got one for herself.

I think all these big brands spend hell lot of money on advertisements and then suck all that money from, us, consumers. The brands which are unknown, don’t advertise, are cheap and are good quality too. You just have to check out the market, each shop, buy such products in small quantity and give it a shot. You never know you can hit the jack pot like I did :).

So thumbs down to, five times costlier, DOVE; and big round of applause for CHARMS.

This isn’t funny; you Stupid Client of mine!

Angry Bella

Yesterday one of my clients came to Delhi. We have fixed a few media interactions for him. Since I service that account I had to coordinate for all this. Well, the interactions went well. However, that client of mine put is best efforts to annoy me.
Today is going to some place to unwind him self by doing yoga, till week end, and invited me to that place. So I declined politely. When the interactions were over, it was late evening, he insisted to drop me home in his car.
He asked if I will like to have dinner with him, which I again declined. But he went on to say, I shall call you and you can join me for dinner. So I said I have some other engagement, therefore, I am afraid I will not be able to join you. Thank god he did not call me!
However, he sent me a sms around 8:30pm some stupid joke, which we used to crack in call five, but I did not reply. Even this could not break his spirit and he sent the same sms to me next day with a good day note added to it. Finally I sent a thank you and same to your, sir sms.
Suddenly I received reply of the coverage I have sent him about two weeks back. And of course he highly appreciated me for my efforts. How funny, same email could not catch his attention a couple of weeks back
Any way I have discussed everything with my boss, who says that if this client gets out of control I have the liberty to shift from this account.
Curse you (client)! I was doing all the research, tracking the trends and now these stupid traits of your will make me handover everything to someone else……

I am loving it :)

I am writing after a long long time. All this time I was too busy with personal and professional life of mine. On personal front my parents are talking about my marriage with my boyfriend. My parents have met my beau’s mother and sisters. So one can understand how busy I must have been.
On professional side I have shifted from financial and life science PR team to technology team. Well, though I am more than excited to handle tech. clients, nevertheless, I don’t know anything about technology. I am a tech moron, as my BF calls me, and all this time I was happy that I know how to send /read an email or how to chat [where to chat ;-)] and a little bit about bloggin. However, now it seems, I have to work hard. Learn about technology atleast about the things in which my clients operate. I used to get bore whenever my beau try to teach me or talk about technology. But yesterday I asked him to help me understand what data centre is?

All in all a lot of things are happening in my life…and so far I like it.

Hey do you know ..Sporshi Is COMMITTED ?? :)

In Love

Today while checking orkut, as always, I sneakily looked at Sporshi’s account. First thing which pleasantly surprise me was her status; COMMITTED. I could not hold back my curiosity and wrote a scrap to her; “oyeee... ur committed?? u did not even tell me...;-) enjoy.`` Then I pinged her on Gmail instantly “ Hey Ru committed?” and then I rushed to her workstation.
*Now you know how inquisitive I am* ;-)
Sporshi and I had a lengthy conversation after a pretty long time. She told me about this “Wonderful Assamese Guy”. She was blushing and shyly smiling when taking about him, and the very next moment boastfully and some what with proud showing his pictures.
We talked about how she met this guy, and how she is smitten by him. When do they plan to get engaged and get married? We talked out our differences as well. Once again we became friends.

I am happy to have her back as a friend and happier for her to get a guy of her dreams.
