LinkedIn Doesn’t Allow me to Accept Invitation: How Frustrating

I can’t accept invitation on LinkedIn. It asks me for my password and when I provide the detail and hit enter, I am back on the same page! It just keeps asking me for password and don’t allow me to accept the invitation.
Well, I can understand if I am not allowed to send invitation, but why on earth I can’t even accept one.

PR 2.0 or Marketing, I don't care! Let me work

Yesterday I did extensive research for how to go about doing PR 2.0 for a mobile launch. I consulted some bloggers and my twitter social media expert friends and all the possible people I could. Well, my team wanted to invite bloggers to some place for product launch. Since, most of them were not based out of this region and this phone is a not-so-well-known-brand. So we had two options:

Pay for their flight tickets and hotel bills ( but still were not sure that they will come)

OR
Engage them by some online activity
The online activity could be something like send some top bloggers a handset for review and explore an opportunity to run a contest on those respective blogs. The winner (1-2 or what ever my boss decides) will get a handset. We could run this parallel on the client’s website too.

I said, this will possibly result in to links and can get viral. We will get good online visibility.

A senior colleague of mine jumped in to a conclusion before I could finish. He said,’ oh you don’t know what is PR 2.0 what ever you are saying is marketing.’ You know I am a social media expert and I have bashed many well know bloggers but they haven’t said anything, and he jabbered name of some well know blogger.

Well I did not fight back but I was thinking yaahhh!! right they did not reply coz what ever you write on I am sure will be such a tiny thing that no one apart from you will ever come across it. And besides they know there are many dumb creatures like you and prefer to ignore negligible things like you.

Well, so much so, we are not going ahead with Social media campaign; I was so excited about.

Arcelor Mittal received confused response in second Life!

Just read in MINT newspaper that Arcelor Mittal had organised shareholder meeting in Second Life, the popular online virtual world. The result?? Well, the results were not even close to good, atleast that's what the newspaper reported. for this 90-minute long event around 50 avatars turened up. The event was confused and uncertain.

The residents were puzzledabout what are they suppose to do. They kept asking so, what do we do now?

As for as the company is concerted they realized that it is difficult to find investors, especially on such sites!

So, What do we do now?? :)

Are we new age PR professionals?

I am a PR professional and i love my job. Not only i am enjoying my work , but there is also this new interest I have hooked in to from about 7-8 months, and that is reading blogs on PR 2.0, communication, as i don't want to be left behind. India PR blog is my favorite PR blog.

I am amazed to see that how many people, with immense passion, write on PR and how PR profession is evolving.

But it’s saddening to know “Social Media” is still an alien term for PR professional at large in India. Not only they are ignorant to it, they are not even interested to know. I asked PR people of an eminent PR agency in India about Social media and to my horror none of them knew about it and what disgusted me the most they said “it's shit”

When all these people are there in the profession do you expect “ BlogsPodcasts” making there way in to traditional PR practice?

Which celebrity do you look alike?

Hey,

Came to know from a friend about a cool website named myheritage.com. All you have to do is to upload your picture and it will scan your face and find out all the celebrities, whom to resemble. Well I have already run it twice with different pictures in hope of resembling some real pretty chick but then no success so far… No problems, all I need is some more pictures and a weekend to do it all day long. ;-)

My colleague has also tried it and she resembles Julia Roberts. But sorry guys she is engaged and we don’t have any vacancy in our office. Bad luck hunhhh.

Here’s the link to this site:-

do let me know who all you guys resemble, and how do you find this site.

Stupid, Chacha.com :-X

A friend of mine, is mad about blogging and net surfing. Every other day he comes up with some new funny site URL.
On Friday he suggested me chacha.com, some new award winner search site. Award winner, because they have personalized the search. Every time you type some thing to search, they will ask if you need more help, than chat live with a guide. By clicking on that a chat window opens, and you chat to someone, to get more accurate results.

I typed my friend’s name, and in chat window i told this person i am looking for the contact details of a friend of mine. A long lost friend. First of all its very slow. One can easily get irritated just waiting for the person to reply. To my surprise they displayed a page saying you are using abusive language and logged me out, and have written if it’s sent to you by mistake then please write to us at abuse_resolution@chacha.com, we will check at our end. I have sent an email to them on Friday its Monday today no reply from their end.

So why would some one search through them. To wait endlessly for results or to get logged off and to add insult to injuries display some page saying you are being abusive.

There goes the chat with the guide--------------------------
