I’m online shopping sites favorite too

So I’m not only ‘my favorite’ (Aka Karina style in Jab we met) any longer, I think most of the deal and shopping sites are in love with me. What do they care, if my husband’s love go a notch down every time I reciprocate to the love showered by such ecommerce site.

I must be getting something around 6- messages and about 10 emails every day from various such sites.  While I am expected to spend half of my day going though all the best deals available every day what do I get in return?  Rotten deals, while Fashion and you took more than a month to deliver my coat, winters were almost over by the time I received it, number given on the deal and you voucher was unobtainable ( but I did manage to talk to someone at the parlor and get an appointment for coming Saturday J)- so the final verdict will be delivered post that.

Now, what I would really love to see is some credits for falling for your well written charming word, every time. But please spare me from some ridiculous points such as 100, coz I got 150 points from Fashion and you, and after spending 150 hours going through every page of the site I couldn’t find a single item for 150 bucks L. So, let’s play fair please…not bait thingy, if you want to retain this customer of yours.

Now I’m running to have my lunch…rest later

PR 2.0 or Marketing, I don't care! Let me work

Yesterday I did extensive research for how to go about doing PR 2.0 for a mobile launch. I consulted some bloggers and my twitter social media expert friends and all the possible people I could. Well, my team wanted to invite bloggers to some place for product launch. Since, most of them were not based out of this region and this phone is a not-so-well-known-brand. So we had two options:

Pay for their flight tickets and hotel bills ( but still were not sure that they will come)

OR
Engage them by some online activity
The online activity could be something like send some top bloggers a handset for review and explore an opportunity to run a contest on those respective blogs. The winner (1-2 or what ever my boss decides) will get a handset. We could run this parallel on the client’s website too.

I said, this will possibly result in to links and can get viral. We will get good online visibility.

A senior colleague of mine jumped in to a conclusion before I could finish. He said,’ oh you don’t know what is PR 2.0 what ever you are saying is marketing.’ You know I am a social media expert and I have bashed many well know bloggers but they haven’t said anything, and he jabbered name of some well know blogger.

Well I did not fight back but I was thinking yaahhh!! right they did not reply coz what ever you write on I am sure will be such a tiny thing that no one apart from you will ever come across it. And besides they know there are many dumb creatures like you and prefer to ignore negligible things like you.

Well, so much so, we are not going ahead with Social media campaign; I was so excited about.

How UCB treating its customers?

We are planning to go to disc. On Friday, so all of us (girls) are very excited about it. Since yesterday we are planning who is wearing what? After office Manka, Geetika and I planned to go to Shopper Stops for shopping; all of us were planning to buy some cool, trendy, halter neck tee- shirt.

We looked around all shopper stop, in each showroom for it, but we did not find any tee strikingly good to buy it.

But I end up buying on cool jeans from United Colors Of Benetton. Jeans was little long for me, and has to be altered. Because Manka was in rush so I asked the sales guy there, if I can get it altered at any showroom of UCB, he replied affirmatively saying “ yes , you can get it done at any of our showroom, any time all you have to do is to show the bill”.

So the same evening I went to an UCB showroom near to my office and requested then to alter my jeans, but they downright refused saying “ no, we don’t alter sales items” So I told him politely “ this is fresh stock, you guys did not give me any discount” then they put me to the manager who again said they cant do it for the same reason, so I cleared out his doubt . On this he told me anyway they will not do it till the sales is going on. So please bring it latter.

Now, have I done something wrong by buying their product? Is this what I deserved after spending 1800 bucks? Or their responsibility ends as soon as customer is out of the show room? Or I should not have believed this guy when he told me I can get it done at any of their showroom? Just because they don’t have any coordination among them selves (among showrooms), should the customers suffer for it?

At least from now on I will think twice before buying something from UCB.
